Grey Scale

23.8.10

This past weekend in Toronto definitely had me thinking I was back in London. Incessant rain trying to rush us into Fall much earlier than planned, completely threw my plans of heading to the seaside and possibly having a barbecue, right out the door.

Instead, I decided to bake some cookies and start on another not-so-summer-anymore read Anil's Ghost by Michael Ondaatje; "a story about love, about family, about identity...a story propelled by a riveting mystery". I'm only through the first chapter, but these claims definitely hold true. Has anyone else read it....or even heard about it?

I also finished reading the Kite Runner a while back, and for those who asked, it is most definitely worth the read. Such a well written book, it had me crying from both laughter and sorrow while being completely transported into the life of the characters.

Not to be outdone, I decided to match the grey skies head on with this monochromatic grey attire. I had initially tried wearing a maxi dress as skirt here and thought I'd give it another go with this grey dress from forever21. Paired with a distressed shirt from Mango, and a diy turban made from an h&m leopard print scarf (okay, I couldn't do the dreary look from head to toe). Have you tried any other monochrome colours?

Hope you all had a more summer-like weekend than I. Thanks for all your sweet comments and a big welcome to my new readers. I'll be stopping by all your blogs soon. Have a lovely week ahead!

Bisous,
Abs

I think the grey on grey is lovely. Especially with the turban.

That dress looks so chic on you, very classic.

I think you wear the turban/headpiece better than anyone I've seen yet. I keep making myself one with a scarf, but when I walk by a window later I inevitably find a piece sticking straight up and looking ridiculous! Anyway, a great, elegant look and I like the bling at the head!

I am a fan of your monochromatic look. I have only tried it with all black so far. You make me feel like reading. I have been putting it off.

I find myself trying to identify the places in your photos. I actually like the look of maxi skirt on you, you are so tall and beautiful, it looks perfect for you.
