MoRoCo Chocolat

9.7.10

Fully recovered from a bout of heat exhaustion, here are some photos from Wednesday. My sister had her birthday gathering at MoRoCo Chocolat, a nice little chocolatier restaurant/boutique. The decor is so beautiful; whimsical with a Parisian touch. I felt completely lost, in an Alice-in-Wonderland kind of way of course. Wish I had better photos, but my camera is unfortunately not the best. And besides, I was too engrossed with all the different flavours and textures to pick up my camera.

I wore chiffon vintage dress. I love the ruffles running down the sides of the top, and across the back. I chose to counterbalance all the frills with a pair of studded sandals and a matching belt. The dress is so light and airy, but was apparently no match for the heat of the night. Left to me, I would have gone in a bikini, but how appropriate would that have been?

It's pouring out right now, and I've never been happier to see those little drops fall from the sky. A little cool breeze is necessary. Now I can stroll through the Outdoor Art Exhibition in peace without worrying about my head exploding or fear of unconscious dehydration. Summerlicious (an annual food festival here in Toronto) also begins today, and am I ever excited to sample some of the finest restaurants! Yummmmm

For my Toronto guests, or who will be visiting over the next little while, the event goes on from Jul 09- July 25. Be sure to check it out! Here's a list of all participating restaurants Summerlicious, 2010

Any plans for the weekend? Do share ;)

Bisous,
Abs

Thanks girlies! It's a dress though, wish it were a blouse, then I could get more outfits out of it. Sadly, not the case.

LOVE LOVE LOVE THESE PICTURES! You look so chic - I love the colour combo. And I always feel like Maxi Skirts are really hard to pull off... but you TOTALLY ROCK IT.

And may I add that that white chair is ridiculously amazing? It could sit in my room and I'd be happy if that was the only thing in there. (Okay, maybe that's a litttleee bit of stretch...)

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Thank you all :) I'm glad you like the outfit and the desert. I had pretty much the same reaction as you did when I saw it. Even now sitting here days later, it's making me quite hungry. *Sigh.

I think American Apparel makes a similar skirt as this one. I'm not sure they have it in red, but they have a maxi in a lovely royal blue.

@Melai & Blue Iris Rivera & Giovanna:thanks for following me :)

@ShelleyBean: a chair made of white choco would have been something special. Might have to pitch that to the restaurant ;)

@Rheanne: Oh thanks, I don't know how to do something like that :( Not so computer savvy I'm afraid

@Jenni: hahha! Now that you mention it, it IS a throne. It would look nice in a funky flat won't it? Would you like me to ask where they got it? ;)

@kate funk: you deleted your comment? :( I would have loved to read what you had to say

Wow, the color palette and the individual pieces are just gorgeous. This is definitely a definition of Vintage Chic.

Did you go to Moroco for the dessert or the afternoon tea? You should try The Windsor Arms' afternoon tea. It's delicious and you get to dress up too ;)

I'm skipping the Summerlicious this year but I'll definitely go to the Winterlicious next year <3 <3 Are you going to Summerlicious?

Abi said...

Thanks Kristy :) I went for dessert. I will love to go for afternoon tea at the Windsor Arms. I hear it's quite the experience.

Summerlicious is going on till July 25. I've been by a couple of restaurants. Bar Italia (on College) and Brassaii (King West)has good food. I hope to sample some more though ;)
